On November 12, 2009 High School Bowling kicked off it's third
season of competition with 6 teams. The current teams are Box Elder
JV, Box Elder Varsity, Layton, Roy, Syracuse and Morgan. High School
Bowling is a club level sport open the any high school student male
or female with integrated teams. There are 10 spots on each roster
with 6 students bowling on a given date. The remaining bowlers can
be used as substitutes and can be inserted into the game at any time
during play. It is a handicapped sport with head to head competition
in the Peterson Point style. Current standings as of 12-3 are
Layton-3, Syracuse-2, Roy-2, Morgan-1, BE JV-1 and BE V-0. The teams
play on Thursdays at the following bowling centers; Sparetime Roy,
Sparetime Syracuse, Layton Lanes, Ben Lomond Lanes and Parkside Lanes
in Morgan. Since the bowlers are members of the NUUSBCA youth, they
are eligible to bowl in youth tournaments held outside the realm of
High School Bowling. The bowlers would like to thank Storm Products
of Brigham City for sponsoring the Box Elder teams with shirts and
equipment and Monty Vorwaller of Sparetime for shirts for the Roy
and Syracuse teams. Please come out and support your favorite High
School bowler as the season runs until 2-18-10 with position rounds
to be held 2-25-10.
